The 'Lord of the Rings' films don't show him

Every single one of Sauron’s nefarious actions originates from a monster that imparted all of his knowledge to him.

Every one of us has come to the conclusion that Sauron is the most heinous antagonist in “The Lord of the Rings.” With the same level of significance as the Eye in his tower or the heroes of Middle Earth, the Dark Lord has made his way into the common imagination. The fact that everything points to the second season of “The Rings of Power” being mostly about his arrival, in a manner similar to “Sauron: Origins,” is not at all unexpected. In fact, it is not at all strange. On the other hand, he is not the only significant opponent in Tolkien’s worldview.

Morgoth, who is often referred to as Melkor, is the owner of that title. Ilúvatar, the entity that gave origin to the author’s cosmos, is responsible for the creation of the Ainur, which are spiritual beings. He is one of the Ainur. Furthermore, since the beginning of time, he stood out due to his desire to attain leadership positions. On the other hand, because he was unable to exert authority over Arda (Tolkien’s Earth), he made the decision to throw it into disarray. According to the Ainulindalë, which is the narrative of the creation of Eä, the world, Morgoth allowed his voice to be distinguished by dissonances that were higher than those of his fellow Ainur, therefore disrupting the harmony of Ilúvatar. Ilúvatar thought of him as a creature that went against the grain of his siblings because of the discordant notes that he played.

In a covert manner, Morgoth had the intention of ascending to the position of Lord of the Valar; however, they had saved the position for his brother, Manwë. Morgoth and the Valar engaged in a conflict that would last for ages, until the Valar Tulkas were able to defeat him and force him to depart Arda. This choice was the spark that ignited the conflict. His fate was predetermined, but on numerous instances, after wreaking disruption and being imprisoned, he would demonstrate a profound sense of contrition in order to be released from his confinement.

Melkor/Morgorth became the first Dark Lord of Middle-earth, and he unleashed conflicts that wreaked havoc on life wherever he went. The number of wicked deeds he has committed is remarkable. As an illustration, the Valar were responsible for the creation of the Great Lamps, which were intended to illuminate the world. When Morgoth returned to Arda in secret and constructed the fortress of Utumno, he would destroy these lamps. Consequently, he compelled the Valar to depart for Valinor, and he would continue to hold the position as Lord of Middle-earth.

The stronghold that Morgoth erected during the First Age was initially located at Utumno, and then moved to Angband. From this location, he conducted raids against the Eldar and the Edain (Men). Morgoth was also responsible for the appearance of many of the most repulsive creatures that might be seen in Middle-earth. The Balrogs, dragons, and orcs that he fashioned into armies were among his most remarkable creations. They were supposed to serve as his army.

His stealing of the Silmarils, which were the three sacred jewels that were created by Fëanor of the Noldor Elves, was one of the most heinous transgressions that he committed during the First Age. The value of the Silmarils could not be measured because they contained the light that emanated from the Two Trees of Valinor. These jewels were stolen by Morgoth, who then placed them on his iron crown, which resulted in the conflict that came to be known as the War of the Jewels. During the First Age, the Eldar and Edain were engaged in a series of famous wars, including Dagor-nuin-Giliath, the Nirnaeth Arnoediad (also known as the Battle of Unnumbered Tears), and the destruction of Gondolin.

The Valar eventually joined forces with the Vanyar and the Elves of Beleriand to launch an intervention in the War of Wrath, despite the fact that they had initially achieved success. Angband was annihilated, and Morgoth was taken possession of. After being shackled and forced away from Arda through the Night Gate, he was subsequently transported to the Timeless Void, where he remained until the end of time.

Not only that, but he was also the mentor of Sauron, who, as we all know, was once a lesser heavenly spirit. This is the most important thing about him. Morgoth was Sauron’s servant during the First Age; nevertheless, Sauron finally took Morgoth’s place after Morgoth was defeated in order to ensure that his evil behaviour would continue. In subsequent years, he was responsible for shaping his own narrative of maliciousness and ambition through the creation of the One Ring, but that is an other thing. However, the example of his old master’s collapse taught him that direct action was possibly not the most suited for success. As a result, he spent a considerable amount of time creating a complex and dark web of influence and betrayal.

‘The Lord of the Rings‘ adaptations have not provided us with any opportunities to witness Morgoth at any point in time, with the exception of one extremely subtle instance. The television series “The Rings of Power” depicted the two trees of Valinor, Telperion and Laurelin, which were ultimately cut down by Morgoth. This is despite the fact that he has not come out directly or been identified as such. under other words, the production of Amazon does not disregard his existence, or at the very least, the circumstances under which he was born, in the same way as Peter Jackson chose to overlook it on purpose in order to avoid distracting the audience from the storyline of his trilogy. Given that the second season of the series will focus on the origins of Sauron, it is impossible to say whether or not we will get the opportunity to hear some direct reference to the dreadful evil.
