The Cyber Show Paris showcases successful French software.

The Cyber Show Paris took place in Paris on May 29 and 30. It had two hundred exhibitors. Along with the traditional theme of the precautions that businesses need to take, the presenters emphasized the importance of insurance and the high caliber of French cyber security software. The play still has to become well-known, therefore the only drawback was that there was no audience.

What is this significant cybersecurity expo in Paris? Cyberspace is still discreet, if we are to believe the Monaco Cyber Foundation or the InCyber Forum in Lille, the capital. David Berenfus, president of Eden Forums, decided to create the Cyber Show Paris in response to this observation and with the intention of capitalizing on the growing trend of digital security. The inaugural event took place on May 29 and 30 at Porte Champerret in Paris. Nothing unexpected. Eden Forum, established in 2014, is a hiring platform for technical domains, specifically cyber security.

David Berenfus grinned in the theater aisles, “Some who refused at the beginning still came.” In actuality, organizations like the gendarmerie and Anssi coexist with well-known cyber brands. Round tables with speakers—mostly in French—follow one another in the conference room. Major international gatherings are still a ways off. However, a few themes rile up the attendees. Cyber insurers stress the importance of prevention.

The other main focus of the conferences is insurance. When it comes to cyber security, insurers have made an odd move. Comparable to the culpable negligence clause in the case of theft, this provision makes it more difficult for the victim to get compensation if a burglar breaks in through an open door. According to Jules Veyrat, CEO of Stoïk, “insurance is the S/P rule.” Premiums must be more expensive than claims. Since we are unable to raise premiums indefinitely, we must lower the risks associated with an attack by playing on the loss ratio. In specifics, the majority of insurers nowadays want to assess the company’s digital condition first. In the event that there is no security at all, insurers will recommend taking some simple precautions. For example, at Stoák, a small business insurance specialist, we perform a weekly scan to verify the security of digital instruments. “Jules Veyrat, there will undoubtedly be attacks. The French Intent

There is no secret about the need to use a variety of technological tools in order to fend off attacks. But there is a benefit to this. A technology’s certification by the EU, which has some of the strictest data protection laws, gives other nations trust and encourages them to purchase French or European goods.

Because security can raise questions at times. Are American companies‘ planned encryption systems truly that opaque to the National Security Agency? “I am unable to market my technology in the United States,” says Snowpack’s deputy general manager Olivier Morel. We promise communication in the absence of reliable third parties. It is technically impossible for me to access the data, hence I cannot comply with an authority’s request for access. Our technology does not comply with Chinese or American law.

This is the distinction between the European system, where information privacy is non-negotiable, and the American model, which uses a third party that is trusted and may be able to transfer information in the event of a federal injunction. “It’s evident in the numbers,” says Francesco Plazzotta. $220 billion is made in cyber revenue worldwide; in France, this amount is 27 billion, including 16 billion abroad. There are not many industries in which France exports 50% of its output.

The Paris cyber show is still a touch disappointing for its debut. There are few routes and few visitors. David Berenfus says, “We’ll be at the Porte de Versailles next year.” A cyber-focused trade expo is essential to Paris. Paris, though, is unnecessary for internet. Furthermore, competition is present.
